Sandra Dee plays the title character in this fun, sun-drenched, romantic romp. Gidget wants to spend her days learning how to surf from her new teen friends Moondoggie and the Big Kahuna, and she becomes infatuated with the pair as she looks for waves and love during one transformative summer. GIDGET helped kick off the whole “beach party” film genre that would become popular with teens of the ‘60s.
