Was the next cult classic science fiction film made in Princeton? CAPSULES, made by Luke Momo (son of the owner of the Terra Momo Restaurant Group), is a independently produced film that's starting to make waves.

A coming of age story told through the scariest drug trip you could imagine. After experimenting with mysterious substances, four chem students find themselves addicted in the worst way possible: they’ll die unless they take more. The film offers the sensitive character building and the heartwarming moments of an indie drama while also delivering a terrifying and grounded sci-fi premise. These characters are put through hell and back as they are forced to face their own mortality while navigating increasingly challenging moral dilemmas.

Capsules won the Best Feature Film Award at the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival. It was also selected to the Garden State Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Kevin Smith Home Grown Feature Award | Feature (New Jersey).

About the Production: CAPSULES was designed to be as inexpensive as possible to produce. Scenes were heavily rehearsed so that few takes were needed to economize an eight day, COVID-friendly production in the February of 2022 after a noted Omicron variant outbreak that winter. Several of the lines were also improvised and ad-libbed by the cast on set. There were only eight main contributors to the film: the four lead cast, the director, cameraman, sound recordists, and makeup and hair. During the time of filming, each of these key members of the production were under twenty five years old. The production and it's budget was mostly raised from Momo’s own salary with a contribution from co-Executive Producer Davis Browne’s savings.
